The mechanisms of the friction process will be examined in detail, differentiating between frictional and sliding wear. In addition, the effect of different types of corrosion, which can impair the longevity and performance of pumps, is analyzed. A vertical pump will be used to illustrate how critical the interaction of material selection and operating conditions is, especially when the pump is immersed in corrosive medium. The presentation aims to provide a deep understanding of the selection and optimization of materials to meet the challenges in abrasive and corrosive environments.”
